IHG promo – Double points until 15th December
There is a new IHG promo for autumn. Unlimited Double Points 2020 is open for registration now.
- Get double base points for every stay from 1st October to 15th December
- You must register in advance
- Existing bookings count
- Reward nights do not count
- Only one room per stay per member is counted
That’s a pretty simple offer even if it isn’t the most generous. I wouldn’t go out of my way to move stays to IHG for just double points.

I would rather send stays to Hilton to help re-qualify for Diamond with double points and double nights, but still, if you are going to stay at an IHG hotel you may as well register for this promo.
What is an IHG point worth?
I value an IHG point at 0.45p, at least. Here’s where you can see all hotel points values and buy points offers.
You can get significantly higher value at luxury properties. 70000 IHG points will get you a night in a stunning overwater villa in Bora Bora, if you know the secret to booking it.
What are double points worth?
With a double points promo you will earn an extra 10 points per $ (before VAT). The bonus is double base points so exclude any status bonus you get (Spire gets 100% bonus, Platinum gets 50%, Gold gets 10%).
That’s 4.5p for each 78p before VAT.
That would be about £4.80 back in extra points for every £100 spent including VAT.
