Hilton Honors Status Match
The status match will give you Gold for 90 days, but it is possible to get Diamond until the end of March 2022.
Hilton Honors is one of my favourite loyalty programs.
It’s relatively easy to qualify for top status, they have a good spread of cheap properties for work stays, and some amazing properties like the Conrad Bora Bora, one of the best hotels I’ve ever been to, available on points.
Even mid-tier Gold gets you free breakfast, and top-tier Diamond gives guaranteed executive lounge access, which I value very highly.
Regular promos make it possible to buy points that you can use for incredible value in places like Bora Bora or the Maldives.
From the Hampton Sheffield to the Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi, there are so many options with Hilton.
A Lufthansa Miles & More promo helped me pick up a load of miles that I use to fly Lufthansa first class in the 747 to Shanghai, a truly incredible bucket-list flight.
You can get the Hilton Honors status match from IHG, Bonvoy, Accor, Radisson, Best Western, Wyndham, and Hyatt.
Apply at this Hilton Honors Status Match page by uploading screenshots proving your status in another program and proof of a recent stay with that program.
Hilton will match you according to your current tier but they don’t specify the mapping. You do need to have at least middle-tier in your other program. Entry level tiers won’t count.
Once matched, you get 90 days of Gold status. If you stay for 10 nights in those 90 days (nights, not stays, so 2 stays of 5 nights would count, for example) then you keep Gold until the end of March 2022.
Timing is obviously crucial. If you only have one or two stays, apply anyway and get free breakfast and you’ve won something for nothing.
If you’ve got more stays planned then hold off until the right moment so that you can fit them in.
If you do 18 nights in those 90 days then you’ll be boosted to Diamond status until the end of March next year.
Normally reward nights count for status so they should count towards this status match.
As a Gold member, you would also earn around 13 points per £ on each stay, so factor that in too.
At Hilton and DoubleTree you always earn an extra 1000 points per stay (select your “My Way” benefits in your profile) so you can rack up the points even faster.
If you have the American Express Platinum then there is currently an offer to get £50 back from £250 of spend at Hilton.
(Email info [at] toseethe.world if you’d like a referral code to get 35000 MR points, worth 35000 Avios or 70000 Hilton points, when you get the Amex Platinum.)
