Iberia recently sold Avios with a 50% bonus and now it’s the turn of BA. The value isn’t as good though.
The offer runs from now until the end of 22nd March. The 50% bonus is available on any amount starting at 1000 Avios.

The bonus Avios do not count towards the annual limit, and the annual limit has been raised to 200k, so if you haven’t bought any this year then the most you can get is 200k + 100k bonus.
50% is as good as it gets with BA, but let’s look at the cost.
There is a sliding scale, so you get better value when you buy more:

You need to spend £655 to get below 1.1p per Avios.
The best value requires spending over £2000.
This is noticeably worse than the recent Iberia bonus, where you could have had Avios as little as 1p and only had to spend £245 to get better than 1.1p per Avios.
It is generally quite easy to get a lot better than 1.1 or 1.2p per Avios, but it’s always better to only buy if you have a specific redemption in mind where you know you will get better value than the price you’re paying.
If you do buy, think carefully about which card you use. The transactions are in sterling, so no foreign exchange fees, but pick a card with a spend target you need to hit or with the best earning rate.
