Fiji Airways Premier Lounge at Nadi International is a real gem and an unexpected pleasure. It was by far the nicest lounge I came across during my travels through the Pacific.
In fact, the Fiji Airways Premier Lounge is exceptional.
If you’re travelling in the region then it is very definitely worth tweaking your schedule to make sure that you can spend at least an hour here.
It’s beautifully decorated. The bathrooms are very clean. There are loads of different seating areas offering great comfort and privacy.
The food offerings are very good indeed, and there is a very respectable selection of drinks including wines and spirits.
It’s quiet, it’s relaxing, it’s well appointed, and the staff are superb.
You will leave with a smile on your face to match the smiles you’ll see from all the staff.
Fiji Airways Premier Lounge is a masterclass on how to run an airport lounge. There’s just nothing I could fault it for.
Getting access to the Fiji Airways Premier Lounge is quite easy because business class flights to nearby destinations like Vanuatu can be really affordable.
You can also get in with BA Silver or Gold thanks to oneworld connect, if you’re on an FJ flight.
Better still, it’s in the Priority Pass network. It must be a contender for the nicest lounge you can get into with Priority Pass.
Facilities
There is hot and cold food and a self-serve bar with wines and spirits.
Bathrooms are modern and clean and there are a couple of showers. There are “spa services” available for a fee – this seemed to be mainly massage.
You won’t notice the spa in the lounge because it’s actually outside and available to anyone in the terminal. The lounge staff will show you the shortcut straight into the spa if you want to.

There is a children’s games room called Lailai Land and if you have young kids there is an actual nanny available to look after them.
There are numerous TVs around the seating areas including a massive display wall. The TVs are mostly set on news with the sound off. There is a glass-walled media room if you want to watch with the sound on.
A small business centre has four Macs and a printer. The media room can be booked for meetings if you really want to spend your time working instead of enjoying the food.
There are plenty of power points and USB sockets and a fairly decent range of newspapers and magazines.
Internet is the airport free wifi, which behaves adequately.

Seating
At Fiji Airways Premier Lounge there are several different seating areas and 200 seats. It’s very easy to find a nice private spot if you want some quiet.
There are big TV screens in the main lounge areas where the seating is very comfortable armchairs.
There’s a family area and a quiet zone.
Around the back of the dining area there is a long row of booths with comfortable bench seating around a table, great for dining with companions.
Around the edges there are cosy little nooks which are ideal for individuals or couples.
It’s really well thought out, giving everybody an option whether individual or a couple or a large group. The quality is impressive: It’s not just stylish but also very comfortable.
The whole environment is beautiful. There is a wall of living plants behind the main seating area, and make sure you look up at the ceiling.
The lights are what Fiji Airways calls “constellation lighting”, and vary to represent Fijian summer and winter skies.
Dining
Fiji Airways Premier Lounge has a really very good buffet of hot and cold food and will make hot panini sandwiches on request.
The service is superb, and the lounge was never even remotely busy while I was there, so the staff will bring your sandwiches to your table.
The staff popped by a few times (at just the right frequency) to ask if they could get me anything else to eat or drink.
There were some nice red and white wines, and a very good selection of spirits and mixers. They’ll mix cocktails for you if you ask. In fact, just linger briefly near the bar and one of the brilliant staff will magically appear and offer to help.
There are bean-to-cup coffee machines where you can get a proper espresso and a decent cappuccino.
Kids and adults alike will enjoy the “Fiji Bean Cart” full of traditional Fijian sweets.
There were some really nice dishes on offer, along with the usual cold buffet, and it all looked fresh. The panini and pasta I had were delicious and full of flavour.
I’m told they do eggs Benedict for breakfast, and I hope I get back one day to try that.
It was so much better than I had expected, especially considering you can get in with Priority Pass. It makes the British Airways business class lounges at Heathrow look like the cafe in an Asda supermarket.

There are five ways you get access to the Fiji Airways Premier Lounge:
- Priority Pass or Dragon Pass
- On a business class ticket with various airlines
- As a Fiji Airways Tabua Club member or Qantas Gold or higher
- As a oneworld Sapphire or Emerald from BA, AA, CF or CX
- With cash

Priority Pass and Dragon Pass include the Fiji Airways Premier Lounge.
Priority Pass is brilliant value if you travel regularly. The “standard plus” membership costs £189 and gives you 10 free lounge visits, but discounts on this price are often available.

Frequent Flyers
Fiji Airways Premier Lounge access is granted to frequent flyers of the following schemes:
- Fiji Airways Tabua Club and Tabua Club Plus on an FJ flight number
- Qantas Gold or higher on a QF flight number

Fiji Airways is not yet a fully-fledged member of the oneworld alliance, but is part of oneworld connect.
The official lounge access rules page only mentions the frequent flyer access shown above. However, as part of oneworld connect you will have access to Fiji Airways Premier Lounge if you are flying on an FJ flight, excluding Fiji Link flights.
This is true for Emerald and Sapphire members from
- British Airways
- American Airlines
- Cathay Pacific
- Qantas
You will also have priority check-in and boarding.
If you have BA Executive Club Silver or Gold then you will have access to the Fiji Airways Premier Lounge when flying on an FJ flight number.
This may not be so well known by the staff, so it may be worth bookmarking this page which shows the rules, in case you have difficulty getting access.
Fiji Airways Premier Lounge cost
The Fiji Airways Premier Lounge costs 99FJD, around £35 / €40 / $45 if you don’t have access through other means. This isn’t bad at all if you have a couple of hours to enjoy the food and drink and try all the different seating areas.
Transfers to Nadi International Airport
There are a number of options for getting to Fiji’s Nadi International Airport from your hotel.
Blacklane don’t operate in Fiji, but Viator lists numerous options including to the Intercontinental Fiji Golf Resort or the nearby excellent Shangri-La Fijian Resort and Spa.
Another option is to rent your own car. Driving around Fiji is very easy. I recommend Hertz who rented me a compact auto for two days for just £90. Hertz Fiji have a desk at the arrival terminal.
